The ACCESS Board of Directors has affirmed the following value statements as guiding principles of the organization’s mission statement, goals and objectives and delivery of services.

  1. Confidentiality of/by clients, staff, professionals, and volunteers is essential.
  2. It is our responsibility to work proactively with affected populations and encourage the clients and/or families to seek to manage their circumstances through actively accessing the available support systems.
  3. An individual is entitled to right of choice, appropriate for his/her life.
  4. The clients are central and primary to the organization: each client, volunteer and community deserves respect.
  5. Collaboration and networking are essential to effective uses of limited resources.
  6. Information and education are the foundation for understanding and promoting healthy lifestyles.
  7. No individual should stand alone when facing significant challenges of life.
  8. All individuals are entitled to access information and resources to meet particular needs.
  9. Knowledge given to any member of a community benefits the whole community.
  10. It is our responsibility to create and/or maintain a supportive work environment that fosters mutual respect and trust.
